Summer's high humidity and climbing temps are tough on hair. Don't let yours fall flat! We've got four simple, weather-defying 'dos that work on every tress type from Marc Harris, founder and lead stylist of Salon Marc Harris, which has four locations including one on Newbury Street, Boston's trendy shopping district. The season's looking cooler already.
1. CAREFREE BEACHGOER: WILD 'N WAVY CURLS
Try this if your hair's naturally curly.
*Detangle damp hair with wide-tooth comb.
*From top of head, comb forward; create a side part.
*Apply a volumizing spray from roots to ends; let set 10 minutes.
*Twist hair into loose, low-lying bun; secure with elastic hair band; let dry.
*Release hair; sweep bangs across forehead and secure with bobby pin; use hands to shake hair loose.

2. SURFER-GIRL SEXY: SMOOTH WAVES
Try this if your hair's long and wavy.
*Separate towel-dried hair into three sections: back, left side, right side (with bangs); apply smoothing serum.*Blow-dry back using large, round brush; roll hair under while drying.
*Blow-dry right side using large, round brush as a curler; roll hair in vertical spirals while drying. *On last vertical spiral, leave brush in hair at top of head.
*Place small/medium round brush on top of bangs; roll away from face while drying.
*Remove brush slowly (so hair holds curl) from top of head on right side; repeat step 3 on left side.
Tip: Another option is to blow hair out smooth and twist sections with a large-barrel curling iron held vertically. Then blow-dry bangs off face.
3. SEASIDE CHIC: EASY-BREEZY UPDO
Try this if your hair reaches your upper back.
*Generously spritz dry hair with a flexible-hold hairspray.*Pull hair straight back and gather at nape of neck.
*Twist the section in your hands up toward your crown and secure twist to head with bobby pins. (To better hold thicker hair in place, crisscross bobby pins, forming an "X".)
4. SUMMER SOPHISTICATE: LOW-LYING TWIRLED BUN
Try this if your hair is shoulder-length or longer.
*Lightly blow dry hair on low heat; generously spritz on flexible-hold hairspray.*Run fingers through hair in a rake-like motion, separating it into 8 sections as you gather it at nape of neck.
*Take bottom right section (between thumb and index finger) in hand, releasing the rest. *Loosely twirl hair; wrap twirled hair around in a curl-like circle and secure with bobby pin.
*Repeat until all sections are pinned at nape of neck in a loose bun. Let hair wisps surround face to soften the look.
